Be cozy and warm with this vegan women's chunky knit pink and white beanie with a faux fur pom! This winter beanie made with a faux fur pom is the perfect accessory to your fall wardrobe. This also makes a great gift for your friends or loved ones in those cold climates who want to stay cozy without the wool!

10% of the selling price is donated to vegan farmed animal sanctuaries in New York.

Materials:
This crocheted winter beanie is made with premium acrylic yarn. Acrylic yarn (a synthetic material) provides warmth, durability, and a wide range of color options, all while being easy care and completely animal-free (and hypoallergenic!). This yarn is exceptionally soft next to the skin with thick texture to keep out the cold!

Other additions include a detachable snap faux fur pom in a bright pink and a removable vegan rose gold cork tag with a gold rivet, laser engraved with the Atomic Age Crochet logo.

All items are handmade by me in my smoke-free, pet-friendly home studio.

Colors:
Please note that while every attempt is made to photograph these colors accurately, different monitors and phone screens may display colors differently, so if you have any questions or concerns about the color, please message me prior to placing the order.

The hat is pink and white, accessorized with a white pom.

Dimensions:
This beanie will comfortably fit an Adult Medium head (22 inches) and is shown on a 20-inch hat form. Including the pom, the beanie is approximately 11 inches tall.

Custom:
I love custom orders! If you'd like this in a different size or color, please reach out!

Care:
Spot-cleaning with water is preferred, but if needed, handwash in cool water and lay flat to dry. Please remove the detachable cork tag and faux fur pom prior to washing and avoid heat. Atomic Age Crochet is not responsible for damage caused by improper care. Please message me at any time if you have any questions regarding care!

Vegan Crochet for the Ethically-Minded

⚛ Welcome to Atomic Age Crochet! I specialize in handcrafted vegan textiles and offer a variety of handmade crochet items for you to wear, use in your home, or gift to a loved one. Custom requests or commissions are always welcome!

⚛ Crochet cannot be replicated by any machine, so everything you see has been handmade by me (never contracted or outsourced) in small batches in my smoke-free, pet-friendly home studio, based in the Hudson Valley region of New York. I have been crocheting for over ten years and enjoy unique designs that challenge the idea of what yarn and a hook can do. In my many years of crocheting, I have learned many details that elevate a simple crocheted project into an elegant heirloom that you can wear or display in your home.

⚛ Atomic Age Crochet exclusively uses vegan textiles, with no wool, silk, or other animal products ever used. I use synthetic, semi-synthetic, and plant-based fibers, depending on the product and its expected use for the best longevity and wearability. If you would like any of my handcrafted items made in a plant fiber option, I am always open to custom requests!

⚛ After many years of creating my own branding and designs to use in my handmade business and personal crafting, Atomic Age Crochet is now offering customized designs, printables, and templates for you to use in your personal crafting or in your own small business. Have a request for something not listed or you need further customizations? Message me so we can work on the perfect branding for you!

⚛ Atomic Age Crochet is an ethical vegan company, and 10% of all sales (the listing price of your purchase) is donated to vegan farmed animal sanctuaries in New York. Additional donations are made to causes that align with racial, LGBTQ+, social, and environmental justice. I also sponsor rescued farmed animals at Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary and Arthur's Acres.

About the Maker - Samantha Locke

I have been an ethical vegan since 2011. Inspired after watching Earthlings, I became vegan immediately and have never once had second thoughts or reconsiderations. I continue to work on understanding and rejecting the speciesism that is so prevalent in our day to day lives, and I sponsor rescued farmed animals at vegan sanctuaries in New York. I also work to support and share veganism and animal rights through my business by donating a portion of all sales, raising awareness about the cruelty present in the textiles industry, and educating others about the many vegan textiles options available. My partner and I are both vegan, and I am a mentor with New Leaf Vegans to provide support to people new to a vegan lifestyle.

COVID-19 Notice

I have been socially distancing and sheltering in place since New York's first COVID-19 case. I am utilizing USPS pickups as much as possible to protect our essential workers; following hygiene guidelines and keeping a clean space is strictly practiced. Additionally, I order all of my supplies online to reduce exposure. Please reference the CDC guidelines for safe handling of packages and mail for the latest information about how you can stay safe.

Care Instructions

Care instructions for each item are included in the listing, and I include care tags with each order.

As with all crochet items, when wearing or storing your item, please avoid excessive abrasion, friction, or snagging to maintain the integrity of the fibers. Also, avoid prolonged exposure to cigarette/tobacco smoke or other strong fragrances as the yarn may absorb those scents. I recommend storing all items folded or flat in between wearing or use (the clear poly bag that I ship in is a great option!).

Atomic Age Crochet is not responsible for items that have been damaged by improper care, and I cannot accept returns due to customer damage. If you have any questions, please message me at any time, and I offer lifetime washing and repair services for all orders!

Packaging Materials & Sustainability

Atomic Age Crochet has partnered with EcoEnclose as part of our commitment to sustainable packaging. I ship in polymailers made from 100% recycled content that can be reused at least once by utilizing the second adhesive strip or simply folding them over and taping them down. For additional protection, I ship most items in a clear poly protective bag, made from 100% recycled content and recyclable. The adhesive strips for the protective bags are reusable, so I recommend storing your item in this bag in between uses to maintain fiber integrity and quality.

Polymailers and clear poly bags can recycled anywhere plastic bags are accepted (such as a grocery store). Or you can find a plastic film recycling location nearest you:

https://www.plasticfilmrecycli...

Larger items are shipped in cardboard boxes that may have been pre-used; this reduces environmental impact and the box may be recycled if no longer needed. All other packaging used in the shipping process is re-usable or can be recycled in your curbside recycling bin.

Additional steps towards sustainability include printing on paper or cardstock that is made from post-consumer waste or recycled paper and/or FSC or SFI certified, minimizing the amount of packaging that goes into an item or the use of mixed materials, and living a low-impact lifestyle, reducing personal and textiles waste as much as possible.

Inclusivity Statement
I can resize any wearable item to your particular measurements, customization requests, or color choices. If you have any questions about sizing or colors, please message me!

Nonhuman Animal Advocacy

Atomic Age Crochet is an ethical vegan business and donates 10% of all sales (the listing price of your purchase) is donated to vegan farmed animal sanctuaries in New York. Atomic Age Crochet also sponsors rescued pigs at Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary and Arthur's Acres.

No wool, silk, leather, or any other animal products are used at any time in the sourcing of materials or the creating process. If you are interested in learning more about going vegan or why I don't use wool or support the use of wool, please visit one of these resources:

https://gentleworld.org/whats-...

https://www.vegsoc.org/sheep

In addition to the ethical concerns of wool, there are also growing environmental concerns of the impact of wool and silk, even though these materials are natural and biodegradable. A report by The Pulse of the Fashion Industry showed that wool and silk is more polluting than nylon, acrylic, polyester, rayon, and other synthetic fibers (based on cradle to gate environmental impact index per kg of material), so for that reason, I encourage all textiles enthusiasts to consider picking a more sustainable fiber option than wool or silk.
